Favorite Book: Go Tell It on the Mountain by James Baldwin
As a Californian new to New York, Tiffany began teaching in 2003 as a Teach for America social studies teacher. She later taught English language arts to middle school students, working in both ICT and ELL classrooms. She enjoyed teaching and learning in schools in both Harlem and the Bronx. While Tiffany has served as an instructional coach, team leader, and mentor to new teachers, her main joy is in connecting students to meaningful books that support a love of learning. Tiffany fervently believes in reading’s power to transform lives. She brings a passion to educating all children, regardless of zip code, to help prepare them for success in high school and beyond. She enjoys supporting schools in creating culturally responsive pedagogy, content area literacy instruction, and utilizing data from secondary assessments to improve instruction.
